Textron Aviation is proud to support the students of our communities through exposure to the skills and experience needed for future career exploration and training. Textron Aviation offers internships for local high school students to gain hands-on experience in the aviation industry.
Paid, part-time internships are available for high school students between 16-19 years old in the following areas:
- Communications
- Customer Service
- Engineering
- Finance
- Flight Operations
- Human Resources
- Information Technology
- Manufacturing
- Marketing
- Military
- Sales
High school internships are available during the Fall Semester, Spring Semester, and a six-week duration in the Summer. Successful applicants should have a school schedule that allows for internship work between the hours of 8am and 5pm, Monday through Friday.

Accounting Intern
At Piedmont Airlines, our strength is in the way we deliver industry leading service to our customers and airline partners. To continue our standard of excellence, Piedmont is seeking a motivated, reliable individual to join our Finance team as a part-time Intern in our Accounting Department. The Accounting Intern will perform general accounting duties, such as assisting with monthly close processes, fixed asset records, and account reconciliations. The successful candidate will be a current undergraduate student or recent graduate and no previous work experience is required. This intern will report to the Director of Accounting.
Essential Duties:
- Perform general accounting duties as needed
- Assist with monthly close process
- Assist with Sarbanes Oxley Documentation and Testing
- Assist with maintaining fixed asset records
- Assist with account reconciliations
- Ad hoc reporting
- Research and analysis as needed
Job Qualifications and Competencies:
- Strong analytical skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Higher education degree candidate or recent graduate in accounting or another related field
Work Environment:
- Standard office environment, use of computers and other office equipment
- Ability to work flexible schedule, if needed
- Non-Exempt
Physical Requirements:
- Occasional lifting up to 25lbs

Business Aviation Management/Flight Operations Intern
UNDERGRADUATE & GRADUATE INTERNSHIPS
The fall/spring semester internship program within the aviation department will provide exposure to all aspects of a corporate/charter aviation flight department and fixed based operation facility. The internship will provide unique insight into the demands and tasks of each role in the departments to include scheduling and dispatching aircraft, flight crew scheduling, maintenance, safety management, and many more. The goal of the internship program is to enhance the students educational experience and knowledge by providing meaningful experiences with practical real-world applications of communication, problem solving, and technical operations.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
• Undergraduate/Graduate student enrolled in an appropriate bachelor’s degree program at an accredited college/university as a junior+, in good standing.
• Must have 15+ credit hours towards aviation management degree.
• Strong academic credentials 3.0 GPA.
• Satisfactory disciplinary record (both at school and in the community).
• Preferred Academic enrollment in internship program AVED 4200 (12) or AVED 5200 (6), or equivalent course number.
• Proficient computer skills PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
• Teachable, positive attitude, and self-motivated work ethic.
• Excellent organization, written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to provide own housing and transportation during internship.
• Must be U.S. citizen.
TIME REQUIREMENTS & COMPENSATION
• Compensation: $7,200.00 ($12/hr. @ 40hrs/week.)
• Shift: Full Time M-F 8am-5pm
• Duration: 16 Weeks Fall or Spring Semester & 12 weeks for summmer
